History
Arcadio was conceived in Los Gatos, gestated in San Luis Obispo, and was born in San Francisco. Drummer Ross and singer Chris meet in grade school and began a music relationship there. While in college, they both meet guitarist Morgan and began a soul cover band, Supabad which was a party favorite.

In the fall of 2006, these three found themselves in San Francisco and began playing with a complete line-up after adding bassist Scott who Morgan had known for over ten years. Arcadio started playing around California with their unique yet unrecognized genre of "noirish-circus-gypsy-folk."

The next chapter of Arcadio's existence included recording their debut EP at John Vanderlsice's Tiny Telephone Studios and picking up viola player Denise.

The debut EP Jodie was self produced and released in the spring of 2007.

A carnie's song in a smoky saloon with a southern belle on your lap.

Praise

In the middle of a post I was writing for Swedesplease about the find of the century (a full album download of Billie The Vision and Dancers's new cd) I stumbled upon my own find of the century. It's the new ep from San Francisco based carnival side show folk-rock band Arcadio.

The title track, "Jodie", with it's gypsy violin intro and raspy pirate vocals is an instant classic in the yet unrecognized genre of "noirish-circus-gypsy-folk".
